The Woodville-based Greenbank Group UK Ltd has announced that its subsidiary, Greenbank Materials Handling Ltd, has acquired the trade and assets of the Industrial Weighing Division of H & H Services Ltd, based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
H & H Services’ Industrial Weighing Division specialises in industrial weighing and control equipment for materials and bulk handling/batching systems. The addition of continuous weighing solutions to Greenbank Materials Handling’s core activities will enable the company to offer full turnkey materials handling solutions.
The new business will trade under the name of H & H Services, a division of Greenbank Materials Handling Limited, and all key personnel will be transferred to Greenbank. The original H & H business has changed its name to H & H Process Limited to reflect the acquisition.
H & H Process Limited will continue to supply process weighing equipment including sampling, level and flow detection, vibration and blending products. Law firm Flint Bishop advised H & H Services on the disposal with corporate partner Paul Greatbatch leading the team.
Commenting on the acquisition, Charles Conroy, group managing director of the Greenbank Group, said: “This acquisition is exciting enhancement to our materials handling business and will help the business diversify and expand its customer base. It will also provide the opportunity to offer larger and more comprehensive turnkey services to both existing and new customers.
“The deal also reinforces the significant development of the Greenbank Group over the last few years. All areas of the group will benefit from this acquisition, including our manufacturing unit based in Woodville, our systems division, which now has the ability to supply state-of-the-art continuous weighing products into strategy, which is dedicated to development and growth,” added Charles.
The acquisition marks the culmination of another hugely successful year for the Greenbank Group. The company was named Derbyshire Business of the Year 2008 and received the 2008 Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation, whilst group managing director Char les Conroy was named Derbyshire Entrepreneur of the Year 2008. In addition, the company has recently scooped the Business of the Year and Innovation Through Technology awards at the East Midlands regional heats of the British Chamber of Commerce Awards.
