Oil batch scale and system intro

Raw material and batch scale suppliers generally provide bulk powders in Rigid containers (RIBC's) or flexible 'Big Bags' (FIBC's) of varying types and sizes, all of which can be handled, discharged or filled using our range of batch equipment.

Our discharge stations whether they be for bags or bins are designed to form an enclosed weigh controller system providing controlled discharge of material to the downstream process without pollution of the surrounding area.

Systems can range from simple RIBC stations to sophisticated FIBC stations incorporating self sealing vibratory tables, neck clamp assemblies with interlocked access door and bag massage systems. Both bag and bin systems are supplied with integrated surge hoppers providing a sufficient buffer of material to accommodate typical container change over times

OIL batch weighing & INJECTING

Oil batch scale weighing systems are designed around a central weigh hopper with oils being dispensed via pneumatically operated feed valves.

Oil feeds may be supplied from bulk storage tanks, intermediate bulk containers or standard drums with delivery pumps to suit. The weigh hopper discharges directly into the intermediate holding vessel situated beneath. From the holding tank the oil is pumped on demand via the mixer injector into the mixing chamber. Complete discharge of the oils and line cleaning is achieved utilising low level probes and air operated purging systems.

Both weigh hopper and holding tank are housed in a free standing enclosure which may be fitted with electrical heating and insulation for the handling of more viscous oils.

POLYMER WEIGHING & FEEDING

Our supply of polymer handling equipment range from simple off-line weighing to fully automatic on-line weighing and feeding systems. A typical solution comprising of a horizontal weigh conveyor transferring completed weighments onto an inclined intermediate conveyor for subsequent loading of the mixer via the hopper door. The intermediate conveyor enables pre-weighed batches to be held in readiness for the following mixing cycle whilst the next batch is being prepared on the weigh conveyor.

Sheet handling systems with knifes or bale cutting can be incorporated to feed sheet rubber directly to the weigh conveyor under manual or automatic batching control.

Batch scale WEIGHING & TRANSFER

Batch scale weighing systems comprise of numerous raw material feeds into a central weigh vessel. Multiple ingredients are fed into the batch scale in accordance with the recipe to provide an accurately weighed batch of bulk powders. Such weighing systems can be supplied in three basic variations.

Gravity System - Where the discharge stations and batch scale are located at high level above the mixer with direct gravitational discharge into the mixer. Remote Weighing - Comprising of a ground floor batch scale with dense phase pneumatic transfer to a receiving checkscale situated above the mixer.

The dense phase transfer system moves the material along the interconnecting conveying pipes under high pressure as a single slug at slow speed. This slow speed transfer ensures minimal degradation of the transferred particles. Vacuum Weighing - Utilises ground floor discharge stations with vacuum transfer lines to feed material directly to a batch scale situated above the mixer.

MINOR INGREDIENTS

Minor batch weighing systems to suit all applications are available from simple manual weighing stations and carousels to our fully automatic SMART CART batching control system.

Manual systems would generally consist of numerous material storage bins or carousels with a central platform scale where the operator manually weighs the materials. Automated systems can be supplied to suit your specific requirements from purely automatic batching to systems incorporating fully automatic low melt bag manufacture, weighing, sealing, removal, tagging and accumulation.

Batch scale control

Weighing, feeding and mixing control is provided via a network of PLC's and PC's. PLC's are used for all plant control with the PC's providing data storage, recipe handling, front end interfacing and plant graphics.

Our KS-Series batch scale production control software has been developed following years of experience within the rubber compounding industry. The latest revision, KS3000,is designed around proprietary data base software such as Microsoft Sequel Server and hence permits the online manipulation of files and recipes from multiple sources.
