Position: UK-based company and distributor of weighing systems, Avery Berkel, has selected South African-designed panel meters produced by Digital Process Measurement for incorporation into its standard range of process loadcell indicator.
Avery Berkel is to distribute the loadcell indicators to its subsidiaries and branches in over 50 countries around the world. SA Scale, the South African branch for Avery Berkel, initiated negotiations between the parent company and DPM. Samples of the loadcell indicator were submitted for evaluation and underwent stringent testing for three months. The contract was approved after minor changes, to customise the hardware and software to meet Avery Berkel's specific requirements, were carried out.
This weighing indicator range, which is microcontroller-based, meets the EC low voltage and EMC directives requirements and is guaranteed for three years. The range is manufactured to ISO 9001 standards. An important feature of the programmable indicator/controller is the calibration method: the unit can be accurately precalibrated with a zero and a full-scale range. The field calibration mode of the DPM allows for precise adjustment of the DPM for dead weight offset and single-point test weight calibration.
Suitable for bridges up to 3 mV/V, the stable bridge excitation voltage includes sense feedback to compensate for cable loss to allow for operation with four or six-wire loadcell systems. The precision front-end circuit ensures high stability and accuracy. RS232 communications are included. Filtering and display interval features allow for steady high-count readings. The power supply is 95-265 V a.c./d.c., which can power up to four loadcells.
