An Active Weighing Solutions belt weigher can be supplied as a weighing system fitted to a pre-existing conveyor or as a new integrated weigh frame and conveyor (known as a weigh belt conveyor). Belt weighers are an effective tool to report on and totalise material passing over a conveyor. Installed into a process, the belt weigher can be used for stock control, process control and product blending. Belt weighers can be used in a master / slave relationship to allow blending of products, the addition of liquids and so on.

Weigh feeders

Where product feed rate control and accuracy is particularly important, an Active Weighing Solutions weigh feeder can be set to extract material at a specified rate and can be used to batch a pre-defined amount of material. A weigh feeder is a slow-speed short conveyor using a single idler full floating weigh frame, which delivers high levels of product feed control and weighing accuracy. Active Weighing Solutions’ range of weigh feeders ranges from light / low flow rates to heavy-duty high flow-rate feeders, either indoors or outdoors.

Check weighers

A check weigher is a standalone machine that can weigh and reject high or low product, store and display weight information and print out required statistical information. The Active Weighing Solutions in-line check weigher is manufactured in stainless steel to food-grade standards, is wash-down capable and may be teamed with a conditioning conveyor and/or trade-approved platform scale to suit the required weighing application.

Impact weighers are used to provide mass flow rate and totals information for free-flowing dry bulk materials. Depending on bulk density, an Active Weighing Solution impact weigher can handle flow rates of up to 500tph. Impact weighers are advantageous where limited room is available, there is no conveyor present for a belt weigher, or the configuration of a conveyor will not allow the installation of a belt weigher. An Active Weighing Solutions impact weigher can be used either to monitor or to batch out a desired weight by stopping the feed device when a target weight is reached.

An Active Weighing Solutions loss-in-weight (LIW) system comprises a bin or hopper and a feeder all mounted on load cells that measure the whole system and the change in weight as material is discharged. LIW feeders are generally the most accurate of all continuous weighing devices. An Active Weighing Solutions LIW system has particular application where precision and accuracy is essential.

An in-process weigher, also known as a batch weigher, comes closest of all dynamic weighing methods to static weighing. Active Weighing Solutions in-process / batch weighers are utilised for in-process weighing control, to control product flow rate into a process and for batch out loading.

Bagging line solutions can be developed to give outputs ranging from around 4 bags/min to 18 bags/min. Active Weighing Solutions offers bagging lines ranging from simple manual systems, where an operator presents the bag to a gross weigher, through to fully automated bagging lines complete with automated total bag control and robotic palletising.

Active Weighing Solutions also offers bulk bag filling solutions. These range from simple single bulk bag filling stations utilising a conventional platform scale or an overhead load cell system, through to fully automated bulk bag filling lines with automatic pallet dispenser, bag release, raise / lower and bag accumulation line. A fully automated bulk bag filling system can achieve up to 70tph filling 1t bags and 30tph when filling and double stacking 500kg bulk bags.
