Position: The company Countrystyle Recycling chooses a bin-weighing solution from Vehicle Weighing Solutions to improve their waste and recycling management.
An accurate bin-weighing solution has enabled one of the South of England's most progressive and dynamic waste collection and recycling companies to accurately weigh the waste materials collected from their customers. The weighing systems were supplied to Ridham Dock based Countrystyle Recycling (part of the Countrystyle group) by Vehicle Weighing Solutions, suppliers of a complete range of products for fleet management solutions. The bin-weighing system, which was fitted to a brand new Hiel Big Bite vehicle, consists of a ‘Loadweigh' precision underbody system and an ‘Enviroweigh' wheeled bin weighing and identification system.
Countrystyle Recycling have been making massive investments in their site at their site in Ridham dock near Sittingbourne in order to accurately weigh the waste collected from their customers and this system was used as part of their forward thinking strategy for the company. The solution has proven so successful in its accuracy and reliability that Countrystyle have not only ordered another bin-weighing system for a second Hiel Big Bite vehicle but have now specified the same underbody equipment on a new grab-lift truck ordered from ABBA commercials.
Countrystyle's Operations Director, Chris Prinn, who ordered the complete system at the CIWM show in Torquay, is extremely impressed with the technology's success, so had no hesitation when asked to comment on how the installation was working for them, he said: We engaged Vehicle Weighing Solutions to fit a smart chip tagging device to the bins on all of the routes and to supply the complete system, invoicing software and 24 hour support. It would be fair to say that we had a few minor teething problems, this was to be expected, but the Vehicle Weighing Solutions team were always available to help us. Countrystyle now maximise route efficiency and we never overload our vehicles. We have a good strong partnership with Vehicle Weighing Solutions and will look forward.
