Position: There is an increasing demand for continuous weighing in the processing industry. This demand has now been met with a new generation of intelligent weight feeders. We have developed a new and more flexible type of weight feeder, which deviates from former standards and places the weight feeder in a crucial yet important position in the processing and manufacturing industries.Guaranteed for the futureUntil now it has been very important for the process and manufacturing industries to know whether they would be faced with the public requirement for their weighing systems to be approved. No one can predict what kind of regulations will be instituted in future.
The consequence hereof, is that many of these weighing systems would then need to be replaced with a new weight feeder which is then capable of taking care of the approved weighing requirement. The new JesBelt weight feeder is modularly designed, which means that it can be installed in the process as a cost effective weigher with a weighing tolerance of ±0.5 per cent. Should the customer then later on be met with a public requirement for approved weighing, this new type of weigher can easily be updated to the class of weighers for approved weighing according to MID (OIML R50) with a weighing tolerance of only ±0.25 per cent. The customer can install the weigher as an ordinary process weigher of good and solid basic quality. When required, the customer is in a position to give us a call and we will subsequently, cost effectively update the weigher for approved weighing, according to the current regulations in force at the time. This way the customer is making a secured investment for the future. Also the associated costs with demounting and subsequently mounting a new weigh feeder are eliminated. This is a very sound and profitable solution for industry.Functional principleThe weight feeder is specially designed for continuous weighing and primarily functions as a conveyor belt, though it is an intelligent conveyor belt, which not only transports the material, but also weighs it. Primarily this belt is used for weighing how much material is passing per hour or how much is loaded into e.g. a silo or coating system. In many places in the processing and manufacturing industries it is required to measure the flow, because you need to add additives like e.g., sugar or cement, to name but a few. Here the belt is rather used as a control and regulation unit in the process line.
The belt is functioning as follows: a material is added to the belt and transported over the whole length of the belt. A weight controller unit, preferably the WC9604 or the Jestronic 400, measures the belt speed and the pressure on the "weighbridge". These values are subsequently summed up in the computer, which is either stated in t/h or kg/h or kg.Increasing demands for continuous weighing There is an increasing demand to closely follow the processes in the industry – not just to optimize on the profit and the earnings but to an even greater extent because of the reporting requirements from the authorities, with regard to traceability in any aspect of production.Some examples include, for process weighing of potatoes, sugar, grains, sand, salt, feedstuff, salad and meat. The weight feeders are practically used for any application.
