process weighing controller for industry

Weigh-Tronix Avery has launched the Evolution E1310 programmable weighing controller, to offer industry up to 40% faster operation than other units and easy integration into existing factory process weighing systems

From its networking capability, to its display options, to its diagnostic capabilities, the controller can be tailored to suit any weighing requirement.

The controller is compatible with all the standard-weighing devices, from a laboratory balance to a vehicle weighbridge, and can monitor up to eight scales simultaneously, in both static and in-motion weighing applications.

The process weighing controller is designed to offer the user high accuracy combined with the flexibility required in an automated process environment.

It can operate as a stand-alone control system monitoring a specific application, or can be integrated into all major networks, PLCs and SCADA systems for broader process control.

A wide choice of protocols is available for sending and receiving data including monitoring and data acquisition via a web browser (HTTP), error reports via email (SMTP) or data transmission via FTP.

The E1310 also allows AS/400, LAN or WAN access.

The Weigh-Tronix Avery industrial weighing Systems Engineers can custom build the E1310 to suit a specific process, including changes to the standard units of measurement, resolution and capacities and a choice of input/output options and control functions.

The controller large graphics display can be tailored to suit the application, offering over four million different configurations of weight data, text and graphics, with on-screen prompts to guide the user through the weighing sequence.

A wide variety of on-screen graphs, charts and gauges help the operator to monitor process performance quickly and easily in real-time.

An alphanumeric keypad or optional keyboard makes it easier for supervisors to change basic settings such as the softkey options and other programme parameters.

The process weighing controller will monitor all connected scales, sensors and control devices as well as its own internal system and notify the operator of any faults via clear messages on the display.

In addition, if the weighing controller is connected to a fieldbus, the problem can be viewed at any access point along the network and an email sent to notify local or remote managers of the problem.

Customers can also benefit from the optional modem connection, which will report indicator or scale faults automatically to an Weigh-Tronix Avery technical support centre for analysis and resolution, without the time and expense of a service call out.

Tim Auger, product manager for Weigh-Tronix Avery adds, "We are committed to making weight-based automation easy for our customers.

The new controller offers users ultimate speed and flexibility for faster weight indication, plus advanced programming capabilities not found in any other industrial process weighing controller.

Every aspect of the weighing controller can be tailored to a specific application for weighing or batching industry ".
