A company's 16-ingredient precision rubber compound rubber weighing & batching system is designed to accurately process powdered chemicals and precisely weigh each ingredient and the final batching.

The precision weighing & batching system consists of 13 two-speed electromagnetic vibratory feeders and three two-speed precision volumetric screw feeders made of 304 stainless steel. The batching system also includes eight weigh stations which feature weigh bases with individual, electrically powered rollers. The Model MTU-2500 bulk-bag unloaders supply the chemicals to the feeders.
For optimum batching system performance, each powdered chemical was tested at the company's processing and testing center, and the weighing system's feeders were selected based on accuracy and flowability of the product. During processing, materials are fed into a 2.5-cubic-foot bin and weighed within [ or -] 0.05 pounds. The final batch is ready for the internal mixer.
The company also supplies Allen Bradley system controls designed and built in the company's on-site UL-listed panel shop.

Precision batch weighing system for silanes
This supplier of rubber compounding batching systems has introduced a silane weighing version of its ALW Weigher. The weigher is said to provide precision batch weighing of this high value ingredient with options for enhanced scope of supply including nitrogen purging for the whole weighing and dosing system, whereby the nitrogen blanket effect ensures there is no introduction of water molecules into the process; and using dry air purging as a method of preventing undue moisture ingress into the compound.
The silane weigher is said to be an innovative, reliable, precision batch weighing systems designed to improve the accuracy of liquid additives preparation. This is said to help compounders realize returns on their investment in less than 12 months and provide enhanced batch-to-batch repeatability, according to the company.
Accuracy figures of [ or -] 25 gms per inclusion across the ALW's weighment range are said to be achievable every time. An insulated and heated weighing compartment is said to ensure the optimum ambient temperature can be maintained at all times, and a simple, uncluttered design is said to permit easy system upgrade if further liquid ingredients are added later.
