A loadweigh underbody weighing system, suitable for rigid or articulated tipping trailers and tankers, has enabled a supplier of primary and recycled aggregates to optimise their material handling. The system was fitted in a brand new DAF 8 x 4 rigid tipper, complete with a Thompson steel body. The equipment was supplied by Vehicle Weighing Solutions, providers of a complete range of products for fleet management and part of the Applied Weighing group of companies. The under body system is now a vital element in the company extensive fleet of vehicles.
The precision weighing system supplied to Day Aggregates is the latest development in under body weighing technology. It has a number of features that make it the ideal fleet solution including its use of a trade approved weight indicator. This indicator can be in-cab or trailer mounted and is fitted inside a toughened polyglass fibre enclosure. When mounted outside of a cab, IP68 glands ensure that the indicator is protected against any harsh environment. Also, the system has an alarm sounder that emits a two tone audible warning for maximum load and overload protection.
