The content of this page is about the weighing software from Elan Software Systems which automate and secure the weigh and dispense process of L'Occitane en Provence group.
Elan Software Systems has announced that the L'Occitane en Provence group has selected the XFP MES weigh software.
The weigh and dispense application enables L'Occitane en Provence to automate and secure the weigh and dispense process, alleviate error risks and guarantee full traceability of manufactured batches.
Cosmetics from The group are available in more than 85 countries in 1,000 shops across the world.
In alignment with the group's continuous improvement strategy, the manufacturing site of Manosque in south of France decided to automate its weigh and dispense area.
'With a 25 per cent growth rate and over 200 new products introduced each year, it had become necessary to automate the weigh and dispense process,' said Eric Lechevalier, plant director at L'Occitane en Provence.
'Process weighing is one of the most critical steps in cosmetic manufacturing, while compliance with current good manufacturing practices (CGMP) of the cosmetics industry ensures the reliability of all manufacturing processes.
'The XFP weighing software matches CGMP standards and allows us to display error messages to operators, thereby avoiding chemical risks.
'It simplifies and facilitates the day-to-day tasks of the operator by providing guided manufacturing and automatic controls,' he added.
The weigh and dispense area has been fully automated in less than four months.
In addition, a quality weighing software is also important to the weighing controllers and systems.
